Jewish-Arab ProjectsKindergarten ExchangeA year-long program that brings children from Jewish and Arab kindergartens together for a series of exchanges throughout the school year. The program is based on the principles of democracy, equality and acceptance of those who are different through activities and children’s stories. The activities are conducted in an experiential manner that incorporates creativity, drama, music, games, artistic activities, etc.
Class ExchangeThe Class Exchange program brings together classes from different elementary schools, allowing the children to get to know one another through art, music, dance and theater activities. The program is based on the principles of democracy and tolerance and focuses on getting to know the “Other” and his or identity while emphasizing our similarities and what we share.
Shirana - Jewish Arab Women’s ChoirMembers of the Jewish Arab Women’s Choir sing songs an array of styles in Hebrew, Arabic and English.
Photography ClassThe class is open to youths and introduces them to the world of photography, social and community photography, indoor and outdoor photography, etc. The most noteworthy photographs are incorporated into the AJCC’s unique calendar, which highlights the holidays of all religions.
Youth Peace InitiativeThe project incorporates music, dance, theater and plastic art and participants stage a joint production based on personal and family stories dealing with tolerance, learning about the “Other,” and personal and cultural identity. In tandem, we are collaborating on a project with two centers in France, and during the year we participate in meetings that include rehearsals and workshops ahead of our joint production.
